Tournament Information
The Buckeye Crappie Challenge is a tournament trail that was started in 2002. It
is a team formatted tournament. This year there will be six regular tournaments.
To fish a tournament each team member must pay a $ 20.00 membership fee. Once
you pay your membership fee, you can fish any or all of the six regular
tournaments. The entry fee for each tournament is $ 75.00 per team. 80 % of this
money will be paid back at that tournament. The remaining 20% will be put back
for the fall classic. (There will be a $10.00 late fee for all tournaments that
are not paid at least seven days in advance of the tournament date.) The team
that finishes in first place at any regular tournament, and fishes at least four
tournaments will automatically qualify for the Classic. The remainder of the
Classic spots will be determined by the points race. The top 50 teams in the
points race, or 50 % (which ever is higher) will qualify for the classic. The
classic will be free to all who qualify. Teams must fish at least four
tournaments to qualify for the points race, or the Classic. Teams will get
points for their top five tournaments fished during the regular season. Any
team that fishes all 6 regular tournaments will receive a 10
point bonus in the points race. The top five teams in the points race will
receive prizes at the end of the year. Each payout (regular tournaments) will
depend strictly on the number of teams entered in each tournament. Remember all
the entry fee money will be paid back to the fishermen. We will have The Anglers
of the Year Award again. This will be open to all teams that join the Buckeye
Crappie Challenge in 2010. Points will be based on each team’s finish in each
tournament, with a bonus to be awarded to the first place team. To be eligible
for this award, a team must fish a minimum of four 2010 regular tournaments.
Each of the tournaments must be fished with the same partner (for the points
race or Classic qualification), however each team may get a substitute fisherman
for one regular tournament and get credit towards the points race. If a team
fishes more than 3 tournaments they may use one
additional substitute. The substitute must become a member (if not already). The
team must let the tournament directors know this is a sub at the seminar before
the each tournament. No substitutes will be allowed for the Classic tournament.
The Anglers of the Year Award winners will receive plaques and prizes at the end
of the year
